HappyFect™: A Novel and Non-toxic Transfection Reagent
Just mix, wait 30 minutes and then add to your cells – easy!

Finally – efficient plasmid transfection of a wide range of cell types can now be achieved easily and efficiently and without cell toxicity. The scientists at Tecrea Ltd have developed HappyFect-plasmid transfection technology to overcome major limitations with existing plasmid transfection protocols, which often suffer from complex protocols, poor efficiency and unacceptable levels of toxicity. In contrast, when using HappyFect™ for plasmid transfection, your cells will remain “Happy”. HappyFect™ is effectively non-toxic to precious cultured cells, including primary cells, which will greatly improve the scientific integrity of your experiments.
HappyFect™ is a newly developed product, but already it has found success in a range of applications and cell types. A key feature of HappyFect™ is that it efficiently enters the cytoplasm of mammalian cells. When mixed with DNA or RNA, HappyFect™ forms nanoparticles that enable efficient transfection without toxicity. This may sound complicated, but our products and protocols make it east. HappyFect™ shows efficient transfection in the presence or absence of serum. Being effectively non-toxic, HappyFect™ can be used for repeated transfections.
Why use HappyFect?
HappyFect™ is a revolutionary new transfection reagent,
enabling effective transfection without harming or activating
cells. HappyFect™ technology provides:
- superior transfection efficiencies
- transfection of sensitive cells without toxicity
- efficient transfection of a wide range of cell types
- efficient transfection of primary cells
- streamline progression to many in vivo applications
- a safety profile suitable for translation to the clinic
- new capabilities, without a need for new equipment
- fast & simple protocols
- time and cost savings
- and more …
HappyFect provides a flexible new system for cell delivery. As well as being effectively non-toxic, HappyFect is able to deliver a range of molecules into cells. This opens several transfection applications, including transfection of primary cells and other sensitive or difficult to transfect cells. Importantly, the underlying chemistry involved is compatible with clinical development. The table below summarises some of the opportunities made possible with HappyFect.
What are the opportunities for in vivo experiments and translation to the clinic? Happily, you can use HappyFect™ with even the most sensitive primary cells and the chemistry is compatible with in vivo applications and translation to the clinic.
